Aurora High School Marching Band Performs at Pro Football Hall of Fame Game

The Band began the 2009 marching season on the same field where it ended its 2008 season, Pro Football Hall of Fame Field at Fawcett Stadium in Canton. This time the band performed the halftime show for the Pro Football Hall Game in front of a sell out crowd of over 20,000 fans and before a national television audience on NBC Sunday Night Football. The band performed with Grammy Award winning artist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Sam Moore. Together they performed a medley of Sam’s top hits including “I Thank You”, “Hold On I’m Coming”, and “Soul Man”.

The halftime show drills, all choreographed by Mr. Perez, included dance moves inspired by Sam Moore’s past performances. The band also spelled “SAM” on the field, the number “50”, “AFL”, and a pair of sunglasses all in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Pro Football League and Sam Moore’s career. A spotless performance from the band and Mr. Moore, along with on field pyrotechnics and huge banners on the field made this show a spectacular sight and a lifelong memory for band members. “This has been a great year,” said flag co-captain Emily Gajewski, “we just finished the most awesome parade ever at Disney and now we just had the most awesome halftime experience ever.”
